Jon Geers, MD
General Surgery

Dr. Geers received his medical degree from Wright State University in 1991 and completed his residency training at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He is board certified in General Surgery. He and his wife, Jenny, moved to Batesville in 1996. They appreciate the family-oriented atmosphere of the community and enjoy raising their five children here.

Dr. Geers is an active member of the community and donates his time to various community activities. His personal interests include golf and coaching his children's sports teams.



About Beth Gutapfel
Beth serves as the Front Office Specialist for Dr. Geers and has been with the office since 2001. If you want to schedule an appointment or check on insurance coverage, Beth can help. She answers the telephone, assists with FMLA paperwork and gets authorization from insurance companies on surgeries and certain radiology procedures.



About Jenna Mills
Jenna serves as the Medical Assistant for Dr. Geers and joined the office in 2012. If you have clinical questions about your surgery, Jenna can help. She assists with all in-office surgical procedures, surgery scheduling and post-operative calls.

SCREENING GUIDELINES

Below are the screening guidelines for breast and colon cancer as recommended by the American Cancer Society. Please be aware some people may need to use a different schedule because of their personal or family history. Talk to your doctor about what screening schedule is best for you.

Breast Cancer
    Yearly mammograms starting at age 40

    Clinical breast exams every 3 years for
      women in their 20s and 30s and every
      year for women 40 and over

    Breast self-exams for women starting in
      their 20s


Colon Cancer
     Beginning at age 50, a colonoscopy
      (every 10 years) is considered the gold
      standard for both men and women. Talk
      to your doctor about other screening
      options.
